Metal roofing in St. Augustine
St. Augustine is the oldest continuously occupied European settlement in the country, and the historic review process treats roofs accordingly. Permitting in St. Johns County
St. Johns County is outside the High Velocity Hurricane Zone - the HVHZ is Miami-Dade and Broward only - so every profile in our catalog can be permitted in St. Augustine.
SL100, SL150, NS150, M100 and M150 carry HVHZ and Miami-Dade approval, which is a higher bar than St. Johns County requires, so those specs clear plan review with room to spare.
NS100, 5V, RIB and PBR are approved for use outside the HVHZ, which covers St. Johns County and every other Florida county except Miami-Dade and Broward. They are fully permittable here.

Are your panels suitable for St. Augustine's coastal salt exposure?
Yes, with the right substrate. For oceanfront and Intracoastal St. Johns County work we recommend aluminum panels with a PVDF finish: aluminum will not rust at a scratch or a cut edge, and PVDF resists the salt-driven fade and chalking that shortens a cheaper finish.
