Metal roofing in Flagler Beach
Flagler Beach is a small barrier-island town between the Atlantic and the Intracoastal, and A1A runs right along the dune. There is no buffer. Roofs here take direct salt spray, wind-driven rain and blowing sand, and the low-rise, older housing stock means a lot of simple gable and shed roofs that metal covers efficiently.
This is the clearest aluminum-and-PVDF case in our coverage area. On an oceanfront Flagler Beach roof a Galvalume panel is a compromise we would rather not sell: aluminum will not corrode where the coating is scratched or where a cut edge is exposed, and PVDF is what keeps a dark color from going chalky in five years of full-time UV and salt.
Storm exposure here is documented rather than theoretical. Matthew undermined A1A in 2016, and Ian and Nicole took more of it in 2022. Panels fabricated to exact length matter more in that context than anywhere else, because an end-lap is a seam, and a seam on an oceanfront roof is where wind-driven water eventually finds its way in.
Approvals
Permitting in Flagler County
Flagler County is outside the High Velocity Hurricane Zone - the HVHZ is Miami-Dade and Broward only - so every profile in our catalog can be permitted in Flagler Beach.
SL100, SL150, NS150, M100 and M150 carry HVHZ and Miami-Dade approval, which is a higher bar than Flagler County requires, so those specs clear plan review with room to spare.
NS100, 5V, RIB and PBR are approved for use outside the HVHZ, which covers Flagler County and every other Florida county except Miami-Dade and Broward. They are fully permittable here.
Approval numbers are published on each panel's page and the documentation travels with the order, so the submittal is complete when the crew mobilizes. See the Florida approvals library for the current documents.

Getting it there
Delivered to your Flagler Beach jobsite
Flagler Beach is inside our Northeast Florida delivery radius, a short run from the Jacksonville yard. Orders move on our schedule, which is what makes late trim changes survivable on a custom build.
Panels, trim and accessories are fabricated to exact length so there are no end-laps to seal in the field, and they ship crated together rather than as separate deliveries. Add turnkey installation through ERS Installations for a fully managed metal roof in coastal Flagler County.
FAQ
Flagler Beach metal roofing questions
What metal roof holds up best on the Flagler Beach oceanfront?
Aluminum standing seam or 5V with a 70% PVDF finish. Aluminum does not corrode in salt air even where the coating is broken, and PVDF holds color under constant UV, so the roof keeps performing and looking right for decades right on the dune line.
