Where it shines

Warehouses, agricultural and light industrial

PBR carries the load over open framing, so there is no decking to buy or install. That makes it the most economical compliant way to cover a large commercial roof, and the 24 ga takes it into Miami-Dade and Broward where most exposed-fastener panels cannot go.

FAQ

PBR panel questions

Can PBR be used in the HVHZ?

The 24 ga PBR panel is approved for use inside and outside the High Velocity Hurricane Zone under Florida Product Approval FL36968.2, at a minimum slope of 2":12" in the HVHZ. The 26 ga is approved outside the HVHZ only.

Does PBR need a solid deck?

No. PBR is a structural panel that spans open purlins up to 60" on centre over 16 ga minimum steel framing, which is what makes it economical on commercial buildings. It can also be installed over 1/2" plywood where a deck already exists.

What is the difference between PBR and R-panel?

They are the same profile. PBR adds a purlin bearing leg on the underlap, which supports the panel at the side lap and gives a tighter, better sealed joint than a plain R-panel.

What coverage and rib height does PBR have?

36" nominal coverage with a 1-1/8" minimum rib height, in 24 ga or 26 ga galvalume coated steel at 50 ksi minimum yield.
