Metal roofing in Key West
Monroe County is a special case that gets confused constantly. The Keys are not inside the High Velocity Hurricane Zone - that is Miami-Dade and Broward only - but the Keys carry the highest design wind speeds in Florida. The right products for a Key West roof are chosen on the wind calculation, not on an HVHZ label.
5V crimp is the historic Key West roof, and in Old Town it is very nearly the required one. The historic review process cares about profile, and the metal roofs on the conch houses are part of what is being preserved. 5V is approved for use outside the HVHZ, which includes all of Monroe County, so here the traditional answer is also the compliant one.
Everything on the island arrives by truck down the Overseas Highway, and there is no local supply to fall back on when a delivery comes up short. That is the strongest argument in the state for panels fabricated to exact length and crated: the crate that arrives is the roof, with no field cutting and no second trip a hundred and twenty miles back up US-1.

Permitting in Monroe County
Monroe County is outside the High Velocity Hurricane Zone - the HVHZ is Miami-Dade and Broward only - so every profile in our catalog can be permitted in Key West.
SL100, SL150, NS150, M100 and M150 carry HVHZ and Miami-Dade approval, which is a higher bar than Monroe County requires, so those specs clear plan review with room to spare.
NS100, 5V, RIB and PBR are approved for use outside the HVHZ, which covers Monroe County and every other Florida county except Miami-Dade and Broward. They are fully permittable here.
